Sarah sculpture Studio’s name originates from our thinking about a well known quote by the artist sijo since 2015    

    I am Sijo Idukki I grew up in the hilly village of Idukki in Kerala. The agro-social conditions of this land are closely related to the historical factors of Idukki. During my early formative years in Idukki, the various celebrations and art programs held in the village instilled in me a sense of beauty. After completing my higher secondary in Humanities, I migrated to Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. I completed my BFA from Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Mavelikara, and my post-graduation from College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram.
As a sculptor, I use a variety of materials in my creative works, with eco-friendly materials such as wood, terracotta and stone being the main mediums in my early practice.
The artist goes through studies of abstract and realistic forms and arrives at the formation of final sculptural forms. Trained in carving, assembling, and moulding with various materials, I later moved to the medium of wax bronze and cement, which I used to create sculptures.
My craft skills help make creations objective. As an artist myself say that I conceptual approaches are the result of subjective interactions between man and nature and a destructive approach to nature. Sculpture forms continue to evolve from my ongoing artistic explorations and practices. I depict the destructive nature of human interference with nature.
